As you can see there are several other thermal baths in Hungary not only in Budapest. :)
We are husband and wife and currently living together in Germany. My husband, Feri was born and raised in Budapest, so actually he was the local patriot however I also felt Budapest as my part of my heart. We used to live in Budapest for more than 25 years.
We really liked to discover the city. Sometimes we just walked during the day with 8-10 km and we always enjoyed the vibes of the city. We would have been avoid the crowded and busy places so it's totally natural during this walking we always found something new.
We have many new foreigner friends and it's a common question:
What can we recommend for couple of days to spend and enjoy the time here in Budapest?
So basically that is the main reason what this page was born in October 2023.
the tap water is drinkable, mostly if you find a well, you can drink from it for free
the tip is around 10-15% in general, but you should check the bill before you pay
-there are places where they count the tip to the bill, so you shouldn't pay the tip twice-
you can usually pay by credit card, but you must tell us in advance
the public transportation is useable and safe, mostly clean
buy tickets online from the apps for trams, buses and metro
Várkert Bazár
There are many places to enjoy visiting! First of all, you should know that the general restaurants are totally safe for your money and for your health. However, you might want to avoid Vaci Street. Honestly, we have never eaten there and we are not planning to either. There are many other places to try the Hungarian dishes. 😊
